2 Week Stay in Laguna Beach

Greetings all. First time poster here.

I'm travelling around from Australia, and only just made it down to Laguna Beach yesterday (2nd sept). I fell in love with the place and am kicking myself extremely hard for not heading down sooner! I would love to finish off my travels there for the last 2 weeks as it seems like an awesome, laid back beach town (reminds me a lot of home).
I tried looking for some hostels and/or guest homes but to no avail. I have looked through the Inns / hotels / motels etc, however, the price at an excess of $100 / night is just not affordable.

Have I missed something? A small hostel / guest home somewhere that locals know about, but outsiders can't find easily?

If there is anywhere affordable and verrrrry basic, I'd be happy to hear about it!!

As I said, it is for about 2 weeks- a lot of hostels etc charge around $150-200 per week, and this is in the price range I am looking for.

If not, maybe someone has a spare room they would like to rent out at about $200 / wk for the next two weeks? :o

Craigslist is probably your best bet for what you're looking for and even then, you're better off looking inland and then commuting for the sort of price you want. Of course prices will fall off on Tuesday - after Labor Day.

Just read this and its probably too late. We too are from Australia and as we stay in Laguna a every year can suggest The Tides Inn (rates room 79.00) or Seacliff Inn other than this you can check out VRBO.com where owners rent out rooms or homes per week/night. Mind you 200.00 per night most likely. airbnb.com is another site where there may be someone willing to let you camp bed for a week at a rate. Good luck!
