Spearfishing this type of fish **might** be OK - but you need to check with the California Department of Fish & Game since they\'ll hold you responsible for knowing all of their regulations and restrictions. See: http://www.dfg.ca.gov/ Also, you will need a fishing permit, but there are a couple of days coming up where it\'s not required, so look into that as well. :D
