  • Getting around Laguna Beach

    Getting Around Laguna Beach

Laguna Beach is a town that runs along the Pacific Coast Highway better known as (CA 1). In downtown, Broadway (better known as CA 133) divides the Pacific Coast Highway into the North Coast Highway and the South Coast Highway. There are many ways to get in and around Laguna Beach.

    Automobiles & Motorcycles

Throughout the town, the roads move slowly in summer, especially on the weekends.

Parking lots in downtown’s village charge between $5 and $20 for your vehicle. Try and get to Laguna Beach early as parking fills up early during summer. Street parking can be hard to find near the beaches during summer, especially in the afternoons and on weekends. There is coin and credit card operated meters.  You can park for free in residential areas, but pay attention to posted restrictions, or you could be towed or ticketed. This is the cheapest option although you risk begrudging the residents. If you are trying to get downtown another good place to park is the district parking lot just across from Laguna Beach High School.  If you can’t find parking downtown, drive to the north or south ends of the town and ride the bus.

    Laguna Beach Shuttle/Trolley

A great way to hop around hassle-free in Laguna Beach and experience our city is the Laguna Beach Shuttle/Trolley. There is a FREE weekend trolley that runs every Friday 4pm-11pm, Saturday 11am-11pm and Sunday 11am-8pm. The trolley runs every 20 minutes.  The free trolley service does not run on Christmas Day or on New Year's Day.

    Public Transportation

A very cost efficient way to travel to Laguna Beach is the Orange County Transit Authority. The OCTA Bus #1 runs up and down the Pacific Coast Highway twice an hour. It will also make a stop at the Transit Center on Broadway in downtown Laguna Beach which is walking distance to Main Beach. The cost is $1.50.
